چکیده
Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) is an emerging tool to monitor public health and the outbreak of infective diseases. It requires real-time information by measuring chemicals or biomarkers in wastewater generated people at community-level for WBE analysis. Protein-based provide valuable insights into community health. However, due complexity wastewater, bottleneck protein analysis lies lack high-sensitive, cost-efficient high-throughput analytical techniques. Diffusional microfluidics, which involves co-flowing streams analytes buffer under laminar flow conditions, allows detection biomolecules their native state via study diffusive behaviour flow. In this review, recently developed techniques, microfluidic diffusional sizing, free-flow electrophoresis, hydrodynamic focusing mixer, that are based on microfluidics reviewed. Their applications including protein-protein interaction, separation identification highlighted.

Dynamics analysis of microparticles in inertial microfluidics for biomedical applications
Inertial microfluidics-based devices have recently attracted much interest and attention due to their simple structure, high throughput, fast processing and low cost. They have been utilised in a wide range of applications in microtechnology, especially for sorting and separating microparticles. This novel class of microfluidics-based devices works based on intrinsic forces, which cause micropa...
متن کاملMicrofluidics for Protein Crystallization
We employ the PhaseChip, a (poly)dimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microfluidic device, for statistical studies of protein crystal nucleation. The PhaseChip is designed to decouple nucleation and growth of protein crystals and so improve their yield and quality. Two layers of fluidic channels containing salt reservoirs and nanoliter-sized wells for protein drops in oil are separated by a thin PDMS membra...
متن کاملWhy the move to microfluidics for protein analysis?
There has been a recent trend towards the miniaturization of analytical tools, but what are the advantages of microfluidic devices and when is their use appropriate? Recent advances in the field of micro-analytical systems can be classified according to instrument performance (which refers here to the desired property of the analytical tool of interest) and two important features specifically r...
متن کاملBrownian dynamics simulation of protein-protein diffusional encounter.
Protein association events are ubiquitous in biological systems. Some protein associations and subsequent responses are diffusion controlled in vivo. Hence, it is important to be able to compute bimolecular diffusional association rates for proteins. The Brownian dynamics simulation methodology may be used to simulate protein-protein encounter, compute association rates, and examine their depen...
متن کاملElectrochemiluminescence on digital microfluidics for microRNA analysis.
Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is a sensitive analytical technique with great promise for biological applications, especially when combined with microfluidics. Here, we report the first integration of ECL with digital microfluidics (DMF). ECL detectors were fabricated into the ITO-coated top plates of DMF devices, allowing for the generation of light from electrically excited luminophores in sa...
